Planting Hope in Africa
Gifts of Hope, an outreach program of Trades of Hope, is offering the opportunity to feed a family in Africa for generations to come with only a $75 purchase.
“Hunger Gaps” often occur in Africa when droughts and failed crops create a lack of food between harvests. During these “Hunger Gaps”, fruit trees provide life-sustaining nutrition to families. Families can also plant seeds from their fruit trees to produce future harvests. Each new fruit tree produces more seeds to plant and continue to provide food for generations.
You can provide a fruit tree to a family in Africa while supporting international artisans and accessorizing your home and wardrobe with beautiful handcrafted Trades of Hope products. During the month of February, every $75 Trades of Hope purchase not only invests in the lives of artisans and their families but also provides a fruit tree to a family in Africa.
Trades of Hope will also give a free Warrior Cuff bracelet with every $75 purchase in February to celebrate the seeds of hope you are planting in the fight against poverty.
Your fruit tree donation feeds children, provides income, and helps yield seedlings so more families can grow their own fruit. A fruit tree orchard can produce enough fruit for vital income in just two to three years. Tree seedlings from the fully-grown fruit trees can be used to help another family lift themselves out of poverty. You can plant a seed of hope that will continue to produce fruit for future generations.
About Gifts of Hope
Gifts of Hope is an important link in the chain of empowering women out of poverty. It is the vehicle through which we give back through a percentage of our product sales. Throughout the year, Trades of Hope gives donations to organizations with a specific vision in mind: fighting for justice for women around the world. That is why, in addition to the work we are doing by creating sustainable businesses, we choose to use Gifts of Hope to contribute to the efforts of others.
About Trades of Hope
So many women live in poverty, not because they lack abilities, but because they lack opportunity. Trades of Hope was started to give women that opportunity for a better life. Each woman has a story, and with Trades of Hope’s help, their story has changed from pain and struggle to a story of hope!
Trades of Hope works with artisans and organizations that are helping women in difficult circumstances. Some women have been rescued from sex slavery. Others are raising handicapped children alone. Some are in war-torn countries and others have HIV/AIDS and leprosy. These women have never had the chances we’ve had, yet they are just like us in so many ways. They love their families and hope and dream of a better life for them.
Trades of Hope is helping by offering their products through home parties, so every woman can put food on their table, a roof over their heads, get medical care and education for her children.
